I am interested in the competitive program. How do I join?
We offer competitive programs for dancers 6 years and up. The instructors select dancers from the recreational stream to train 4+ hours a week. We attend 4 competitions a year. We would be happy to arrange an audition and meeting with our Artistic Director. We are extremely proud of our competitive dance team and welcome new members. Please email email@example.com to set up an appointment with the Artistic Director!
How do I register?
You can download our registration package or come into the studio and sign your child up. Our friendly staff will be able to help you with all questions and concerns you may have about dance.
What are the hours of the dance studio?

What age can you start?
Dancers beginning age can vary as to their level of dance. There are no definitive barriers to dance based on age, or ability. Creative Edge can help you assess that ability and find exactly what works for you. Don’t forget we also offer programs for young children who start our Creative Movement class at 2 1/2 years of age.
Do I need to buy costumes?
Yes. Recreational and Competitive students need to buy costumes, as they are a big part of the dance season. At the beginning of the dance season at registration time there is a deposit fee per each performance that your dancer is in throughout the season with the remainder to be paid as performance season/competition rolls around. Due to the nature of designing and creating costumes, it is impossible to say what the final balance will be. However, Creative Edge keeps in mind the need for financial responsibility and does an excellent job balancing the fabulous costumes with affordability.
Is there a recital?
Creative Edge Dance Studio has 2 recitals or shows as we call it. Because we try to put on a show with your children as the stars. There will be 2 recitals/shows at the end of our season in June. We also put on a “Pre-Show” for our competitive dancers usually in March before competitions begin.
Does my child need special shoes?
Shoes for hip hop are non-marking in door running shoes. Tap shoes are needed for Tap classes, Pointe shoes are required for pointe, ballet shoes are required for ballet and jazz shoes are required for jazz. No shoes are required for acro. Please see our attire page our ask the front desk for a full list of exact requirements.
Can I watch my child in class?
All classes are closed to parents so teachers and students can retain their focus without distraction. However we will have celebration days where parents can come watch recreational students for an entire class. If your child attends one of our workshops we do offer a unique observer package for parents where they are able to view class from an observation studio.
Is it ever too late to start?
Absolutely not!! If you want to learn to dance then we will find the right class for you. Generally every class is based on age and ability. It is very important to the students to fit in socially. We offer classes for students as young as 2.5 right up to adult. For every class we have a beginners level as well as a more experienced group. If you are unsure as to where you fit in please feel free to call or come for a visit.
That is entirely up to you. If your schedule is busy and you are looking for a recreational program we can schedule you in for one or two classes weekly. If you want more from dance and can commit to more classes, we can accommodate that too! It’s all up to you – the dancer.
What do I wear to dance?
Each class has a uniform code, which you will be given to you with your registration package.
