What age can you start?
Dancers beginning age can vary as to their level of dance. There are no definitive barriers to dance based on age, or ability. Creative Edge can help you assess that ability and find exactly what works for you. Don’t forget we also offer programs for young children who start our Creative Movement class at 3 years.
Do I need to buy costumes?
Yes – costumes are a big part of the dance season. At the beginning of the dance season at registration time there is a $50.00 deposit fee per each performance that your dancer is in throughout the season with the remainder to be paid as performance season/competition rolls around . Due to the nature of designing and creating costumes, it is impossible to say what the final balance will be. However, Creative Edge keeps in mind the need for financial responsibility and does an excellent job balancing the fabulous costumes with that responsibility.
Creative Edge Dance Studio has 2 recitals or shows as we call it. Because we try to put on a show with your children as the stars. One show usually our pre-show event is in March and the Final year end show is at the end of June.
Does my child need special shoes?
Shoes for hip hop are non marking running shoes. Tap shoes are needed for the Tap class. Pointe shows are required for pointe ballet. No shoes are required for acro, or jazz.
Can I watch my child in class?
All classes are closed to parents so teachers and students can retain their focus without distraction. However our show days are open to videos and still camera’s. And our workshops offer a unique observer package for parents where they are able to view class from an observation studio.
Absolutely not!! If you want to learn to dance then we will find the right class for you. Generally every class is based on age and ability. It is very important to the students to fit in socially. We offer classes for students as young as three right up to adult. For every class we have a beginners level as well as a more experienced group. If you are unsure as to where you fit in please feel free to call or come for a visit.
